Partner Visa - AUS-Visas

Partner Visa Overview

A partner visa is a type of visa that allows spouses or de facto partners of Australian citizens, permanent residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens to live in Australia. There are different types of partner visas depending on whether you apply from outside or inside Australia, and whether you are married or in a de facto relationship.

Some of the common requirements for a partner visa are:

You must be sponsored by an eligible person who is 18 years or older and has a genuine and ongoing relationship with you.

You must meet health and character requirements and not have any outstanding debts to the Australian government.

You must provide evidence of your relationship, such as joint bank accounts, shared bills, photos, correspondence, etc.

You must either be married or have lived together for at least 12 months, unless you have registered your relationship or have compelling and compassionate circumstances.

This visa lets you come to Australia to marry your prospective spouse and then apply for a permanent partner visa. You must be outside of Australia when you apply for this visa.
